Previous and Current Research

Group leader : Dr. Chem. Sci. Olga Zaporozhets

Professor Zaporozhets O. published more than 300 original papers and review articles, 50 patents and is a co-author of 2 scientific books. Their group consists of 3 Senior researchers, 1 Junior Researcher, associate Prof.- 3, assistnt Prof.-3 and 5 PhD students as well as about 20 Bachelor and Master students.

Current research interests
Organic reagents and their complexes immobilized on the surface of solid-phase matrixes, chemistry on the interface: "modifying agent solution/matrix surface" and "metal salt solution/ immobilized modifying agent", properties of the solid-phase reagents as a function of the nature of the matrix, modifier and the mechanism of its fixing on the surface, creation of new environment















Future Projects and Goals

Development of rapid and simple (including visual-test) determination of various toxicants (heavy metal ions and some organic compounds), antioxidants and bioactive elements in the environmental objects (water, soil, etc.), biological liquids, food, medical, etc.

Methodological and Technical Expertise

Design, synthesis and characterization of nano-particles and fluorescent probes using molecular spectroscopy FAAS, ETAAS and chemiluminescent and microscopy techniques, kinetics methods, chromatography, electrochemical technique.
